"Called this locksmith after the snib on my front door became stuck and locked the door. I had recently fitted replacement handles with a snib, matching the originals. The handles worked fine, but the snib engaged and wouldn't disengage.The locksmith was pleasant and initially suggested the gearbox was likely the issue and could be repaired. However, after opening the door and inspecting the lock, I was told the system was a Spanish design and that I should refit the old handles. When I explained I wanted the new handles fitted, I was advised it would be cheaper to replace the entire door than the lock, and that the snib wasn't necessary. I paid £140 for the door to be opened, but the original problem wasn't fixed and no repair solution was offered. I was left disappointed that the issue remained unresolved despite the call-out charge. 2 stars - one for turning up & 1 for door to be opened."
