"Poor attitude to people. They pretended to ignore me when I asked how long they would be blocking the drive. They get 2 stars for clearing the council owned drain that was very blocked."
"Chap turned up with a plunger!! Even after telling them the ground floor sewer pipe was blocked. He said a pressure hose unit would attend in an hour, no one came..very poor communication between the company and the number we called. Used DYNO ROD which they attended next day and did complete the job"
"I used Cardiff drains (Wales environmental) to empty a pumping chamber. They asked me the distance from the pumping chamber to where the lorry would be parked and I said around 30-40 meters. An engineer turned up on the arranged morning and said it was about 70 meters and I hold my hands up as I was wrong about the distance. He then informed that he didn't have a long enough hose on the van which is fair enough and would have to rearrange to do it again with the appropriate hose. I thought well it was my mistake so can't argue, they then charged a £90 abort fee which I thought was excessive considering their depo is 2 miles away and must have cost £1 in fuel if that. Anyway the next day they turn up they go to the OTHER side of the building and drain the pumping chamber from there but it's only 30 METERS from the lorry to the pit! I asked why they didn't just drive round to the other side of the building on the last visit as it would have saved me £90!! When confronting them they would not offer any refund and said that I had the distance wrong which I admit to from the other side of the building BUT they didn't use that side, they used the side that was 30 meters and they had the correct length hose on the previous appointment!! I can't see this as anything else other than a ploy to get more money from me so they get 1 star."
"I can’t comment on Cardiff Drain Cleaning’s actual work, because we only attempted to get a quote for repairs and relining our main domestic drain. We didn’t get any work done because, after 4 weeks of our efforts, their broken promises and ever changing/escalating opinions of what they needed from us/to do to produce a quote, we had to write the time off as a failure. Hence the low score – I’d recommend avoiding as customer service, meeting agreements and completing work on time were all patchy or low standard. Part of this delay (under a week) was us providing the existing DVD footage of the survey we had already showing the leaks to be repaired (with clear locations), but they then took a fortnight to decide they couldn’t use it/’code it’, though they had watched it. Our drain has been leaking the whole time and I feel like an idiot for wasting weeks and believing CDC that we’d get a quote imminently; when each time we finally got a real response it was to need more information. Or in the end, two engineer visits to jet wash and then re-do the survey. This update was unclear, though I think at least one visit was to be free of charge, but given what had gone before we envisaged another few weeks of delay. Needless to say we went with another company, who I hope to write a much better review for in time."
"Very much recommend these guys. They came within the hour to our house in the north of Cardiff, and quickly sorted the blockage problem, which was a quantity of white paint blocking the drainage pipes, caused by the previous house owner, followed by a mini-tsunami of you-know-what. Result - drains no longer blocked, toilets flush again. Happy days!"
